The blog is taking this week off so that Ms. Gower can wrap up conferences and prepare report cards.

Last week we read non-fiction texts that focused on the Rainforest. We learned about interesting plants and animals that live within this habitat. Share at least three facts that you learned this week. Use examples from the books that I shared with you in class. You can even do a little more research on this topic and share some new information as well. As always, I can't wait to read your posts =) Last week we listened to a short story titled, The Blue Snowman. In this story we heard about a little boy named Derek that was surprised to wake up to blue snow all over the ground. He shared with us how to build a snowman along with some great details about this wondrous snow. In the end though we realized that Derek was only dreaming about this unusual colored wonderland. Make connection to this story... have you ever dreamt of something unusual or different or seen a cartoon where one of the characters had a weird dream? It doesn't have to be about snow. Think of a connection that you would like to share. Tell how this story reminded you of it. By now your responses should be more than 3 sentences long so use some good details in your response and provide me with some examples from the text. If you need to hear the story again just click the picture of the snowman and the story will pull up in a new tab. You can read it to help remind you of the events that happened. We will have lunch on Monday to give you some extra time to create a good response. I cannot wait to read your posts! =) |
Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
