This week in class we read the stories: The Secret Code, Zack and His Friends, and Two Best Friends. Our objective that we are focusing on this quarter is to compare characters and events between two different stories. Remember that compare means to share ways things are alike and ways things are different. With this in mind, the stories that you read this week during Guided Reading were chosen so that you could compare them to one of the above stories. The Red Group read the story: You and I; The Yellow Group read the story: Best of Friends; The Green Group read the story: Mike's Good, Bad Day; The Blue Group read the story: Changes; and The Orange Group read the story: A Man of Vision. Think about the story you read this week in guided reading groups and how it connects to one of the stories we read in class either aloud or through Read to Someone. Share the connection you make between the characters and events in the stories. How was your story alike and/or different to one of the other stories mentioned above? What connection can you make? I can't wait to read your posts

Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
