Last week we learned about Johnny Appleseed through an interactive lesson, story, video, and more. In each of these we noticed that parts of the story s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d the truth. We decided that some parts were possible and could really happen while other parts were impossible! Give me an example... Tell me one thing you heard that could be true and one thing that stretched the truth! I can't wait to read your posts!

TRUE: He wore a pot on his head. False: A snake could not bite his toe because his skin was too rough.

His story stretched the truth, because his shadow and bigger, and bigger, and bigger. The true thing that could happen is if you plant an apple seed it will grow.

Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
