This week we read the story Pigs in a Rig. As we read this story we noticed that certain things happend to the pigs. This created a discussion on Cause and Effect. We noticed that the Sid (one of the characters in the story) fell out of the truck because the truck hit a bump in the road. The Cause was the truck hitting the bump and the Effect was Sid falling out and landing in the mud. Another example from the story was when all three pigs got dirty (muddy) they went to the wash. Because they went to the wash they became clean (effect). Also, because they were clean and shiny they won the blue ribbon at the fair (effect). We had a great discussion about Cause and Effect in class and even made some connections; such as: because I brush my teeth, my teeth are clean and because I get in bed I fall asleep. I would like to hear some more examples of Cause and Effect. See if you can make a connection with this story by sharing an experience that demonstrates Cause and Effect! I can't wait to read your posts!

Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
