Last week we talked about retelling or summarizing stories. We talked about how all stories have a beginning, middle, and an end. In the middle of the story there are several events that occur. We also talked about when you summarize a story you share the important parts in your own words. Can you practice retelling/summarizing a story that you've read. It can be a story you read at school or at home. Tell me about the characters, the setting, the problem and solution. Make sure you think about the beginning, middle, and end! Tell the important parts... I can't wait to read about your story!

The characters in the story are the chicken and the interrupting chicken's dad. The setting of the story is the interrupting chickens bedroom. The problem of the story is that the interrupting chicken interrupts his dad when he tells him a story. The solution of the story is that the interrupting chicken goes to sleep.

Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
