This week we read the folktale: The Fisherman and His Wife. In this story the wife asks for many things she wants, but doesn't necessarily need. Below is another version of this story; remember folktales are retold and sometimes change from one version to another. Watch the video if you need to; then think about the characters in this story. Describe BOTH the fistherman and his wife by sharing character traits that tell the kind of person they are. Why do the traits you chose best fit these two characters? Use SPECIFIC details/examples from the story in your answer. Remember to use complete sentences and that good responses typically have more than 3 sentences that support your ideas. I cannot wait to read your posts.
Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a story that we read in class. This is a great way to get your child thinking about text & building his/her comprehension! Please encourage them to take part in this activity!
