Does everyone eat turkey for Thanksgiving? Last week we read the story about Tuyet whose family is from Vietnam. Her family doesn't eat turkey on Thanksgiving; instead they eat duck. Tuyet thought her family was wrong and she had many different feelings throughout this story. Can you share two feelings Tuyet experienced and why her feelings changed? I can't wait to read your posts! | |

No, everyone does not eat turkey for thanksgiving. She felt sad when she found out they were not eating turkey. She was really nervous about telling the class that her ate duck. She liked the duck and ate second helpings. She felt happy because her other classmates did not all eat turkey.

First, at the beginning she was feeling sad because people ate turkey and her family did not.

She was sad because she was having duck for “turkey day.” She was nervous that her teacher wouldn’t be nice her if she told her that she had duck for turkey day.

Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
