Read a non-fiction book this week. Tell me what the main idea was and list at least two supporting details from the book. Were there any text features that you noticed, if so what were they? **You can use Raz-Kids for this post!

The name of the book that I read was Moonwalk - The First Trip to the Moon. The book was about Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin's walk on the moon. The name of the spaceship crew was Apollo 11. The spaceship traveled faster than a bullet. The spaceship split into two spaceships with one portion called the Eagle and the other portion being the command ship named the Columbia after Christopher Columbus. President Richard Nixon called Armstrong while he was on the moon. The text features that I saw in the book were the Title, Chapter headings, captions, photographs, and pictures.

Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
