Last week we read the story How Full is Your Bucket? Showing empathy and compassion for others is part of being a good citizen, plus it makes you feel good when you do good deeds. Tell a time you helped fill a friends bucket.
I hope you all have been reading during break!!!! Post 8 books (or 1 chapter book) that you've read over break with a brief summary to earn lunch with me when we track back in!
Last week we talked a lot about characters in stories and about the setting (where & when the story takes place).
Choose a prompt to respond to:
How would you best describe the duck in this story? Remember to talk about his character traits versus his feelings (think about the activity we did in class).
What was the setting at the beginning of the story? What time of day do you think it is and how do you know?
Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a story that we read in class. This is a great way to get your child thinking about text & building his/her comprehension! Please encourage them to take part in this activity!
